How Hyco Products Support Sustainability

October 3, 2024

At Hyco we are committed as a company to developing products that support sustainability. We believe that sustainability is crucial for maintaining a balance between economic development and preservation of the environment.

In our view sustainability is essential because it aims to ensure that human activities do not deplete resources or cause irreversible damage to the planet that imperil current and future generations.

By adopting sustainable practices, companies can help address critical global challenges like climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality, creating a more balanced and fairer world for all people.

Our Line of Sustainable products

So how does Hyco convert those lofty goals for sustainability into action?

In developing our line of products, we’ve taken great pains to develop tools for use in logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing that use less power while improving worker safety and comfort. All our products take advantage of our Ultra-Low Power Consumption Platform (ULPCP) technology. Because a significant portion of electricity is generated by carbon fuels, less power consumption does its part to shrink carbon footprint.

Our HYCO Ring Scanner can reduce power consumption by as much as 80 percent compared to traditional scanners on the market. In addition, because our scan engine only uses 5 percent of the power consumption found in traditional solutions, we need only a very small battery to operate the scanner.

A smaller battery shrinks the size of the product shell and reduces the use of non-degradable plastics to help save the environment. What’s more, a smaller battery also results in lower environmental pollution caused by waste battery materials.

Our C20 power charger for our ring scanners consumes less power than our competitors. Thicker charging cables, by the way, are prone to heating up from carrying higher current. We, however, use standard charging cables so even when charging 10 ring scanners at the same time, there’s no noticeable increase in cable temperature.

Our ULPCP wearable Internet of Thing (IoT) devices also help to lower carbon emissions because they use less power. We designed the HYOS7.0 operating system used in our wearables specifically for low power consumption.

Our wireless light tags are a low-power, pick-to-light solution that supports sustainability by reducing energy consumption and offering a long battery life on a single charge. Without low-power technology, wireless light tags wouldn’t be able to last long enough to be practical in industrial pick-to-light systems.

Because our products are also lightweight and designed for worker safety, comfort, and ease of use, it helps to create a more relaxed working environment while improving efficiency to save costs. All in all, our products help support a company’s commitment to a sustainable future for people and our planet.
